The Teacher-in-training Scholarship was established for any current Parkland School Division student who is planning to attend a post-secondary Bachelor of Education program in the calendar year of. These scholarships are awarded annually to one graduate of MCHS, SGCHS, or Connection for Learning. If there are no applicants from one of these schools for that calendar year, another applicant from a school already awarded, may be considered. A student can receive only one scholarship in their first year of their post-secondary education.

Eligibility:              Applicant will be weighed on the following criteria:

• Academic achievement (statement of marks)
• Character (two letters) provided by student
• Involvement in extra-curricular activities
• Leadership roles within the school or community
• Volunteer work in the community
• Confirmed enrolment in a post-secondary institution

The applicant must send the completed application form and two letters of reference to the President of Parkland Teachers’ Local 10. The applicant must request a transcript of marks from the Department of Education and forward them to:

Successful applicants must provide proof of enrolment at a post-secondary institution. This proof must be provided before a cheque will be issued.
